Hilariously popular music video for the song "Gangnam stajl," South Korean rapper PSY (short for Psycho), the video has already more than 400 million visitors on YouTube, and the number continues to grow. Few, however, know that the song is actually designed as a sort of humorous criticism of South Korean new rich, whose embodiment is Gangnam - Seoul elite neighborhood.
To enjoy Psijevom "cowboy" and dance scenes of the video we do not need knowledge of the Korean language, but many have certainly been asked what he was actually singing and "what is to Gangnam?"
Gangnam: It is part of Seoul where there are about one percent of the population of this city, certainly the most expensive and most desirable addresses in South Korea (the average house costs about 716,000 dollars), is a target of envy and ridicule Koreans.
Until recently, this area half the size of Manhattan, whose name literally means "south of the river," was abandoned village house, surrounded by agricultural improved land and irrigation channels.
The time of the rise of the seventies brought a wave of new millionaires who began to settle in this particular area. Land plots and housing prices have risen sky-and in the neighborhood began to spring up and elite boutiques, clinics, plastic surgery and high school, what their poorer fellow citizens perhaps the most envied.
